I was born in northern Minnesota in 1947 where I lived with my parents and four brothers. In 1968 I was challenged to invite Jesus Christ into my life to be my Lord.

I graduated from the University of Minnesota, with a degree in secondary education, in 1969. Mathematics and Physics were my fields of interest. I taught at Fred Moore Junior High School in Anoka for five years until 1974.

Dan and I were married in 1971. In 1972 we were led to help Scott Ross with his radio program. We gave a local telephone number for people to call with their needs and questions. At first we did crisis counseling on Sunday evenings. This was the beginning of Love Lines.

We have two children, a son Dean and daughter Debbie. When they reached school age I volunteered to work at Love Lines (which in 1977 had grown to a 24/7 operation), eventually became a paid worker, and continued there until I retired in 2012.

We began attending North Heights Lutheran Church in Roseville in 1977,  eventually attending the Arden Hills campus, where we have been since.

I enjoy my retirement years, with travel, painting, reading and crafts, but my biggest thrill comes from my grandchildren. I now have six.

I was blessed to have been into a Christian home, dedicated
to the Lord as an infant. Dad and Mom attended a tent meeting
(1930) in their early years of marriage and were saved long before
I was born. I was taken to church twice on Sunday, Wednesday nights
for prayer meetings and Bible study. We had revival meetings 2 to 3
times a year and then we were taken to church every night for 2 to 3 weeks.
I didn't appreciate it all that much back then but I appreciate the value now.

I was seven years old when I got saved, and have loved the Lord ever
since. I didn't walk closely for some of the years but did remain true to
my belief in Jesus. From an early age I loved the word and wanted to
minister the word of God to others

I joined Love Lines as a phone counselor about 20 years ago and have
truly been blessed to have been able to help so many needy people from
their desperation, suicide, depression, addictions and much more. For the
past few years, I have been blessed to train counselors to meet the needs
of other callers.

About 2 years ago, God called me to seek a position on the Board at
Love Lines. That has been an experience that I will always cherish. I trust
that I can continue to be used of the Lord for as long He desires.
