The Beginning of Love Lines
On a Sunday evening in March of 1972 Diane and I and three friends. Dean and Dolly Danielson and Herb
Pfiffiier, went to KTIS radio studios to answer telephones for "The Scott Ross Show." Only Herb, a good
friend, was working in ministry fulltime, as director of Hospitality House Boys and Girls Club. We
specifically asked him to join us just in case God was right and this concept actually worked.
Each of us had a "Four Spiritual Law" book to use as an evangelism tool if someone called. The five of us
sat in one small studio at KTIS, around a table with one telephone on it. We listened to "The Scott Ross
Show" on a portable radio while we waited for the telephone to ring, and we enjoyed some coffee and cookies
while we talked. I had convinced them that no one would call, that it would be like we would be going out
to have coffee after church. We didn't even bother to look for any other phones.
Although the radio was on, none of us were listening to the program, but instead were having a good time

number, but none of us heard it. All three lines on the telephone lit up and I said, in amazement, "What
did KTIS do to get all their lines to ring?" Never once did I think that the calls were from "The Scott
Ross Show" on WDGY.
I answered the phone in front of me, surprised that the caller had been listening to "The Scott Ross Show".
Hearing my response, the Danielson's rushed out to find the other phones to answer them. Teenagers were
asking us to tell them about Jesus. They wanted to receive Him as Savior. We were all amazed and took out
our Campus Crusade "Four Spiritual Law" booklets and shared the plan of salvation with the callers.
Diane had come along to pray for us so she didn't plan to take any calls. The rest of us were busy for 3
hours. Just are
