If you have a calling to begin a ministry to help people in crisis that need the message of salvation from the Bible, consider the following and send your answers to the International Christian Crisis Center. We are here to help you develop a personal ministry for either ordained ministers or laypersons.

Each center is self-supporting. We provide information, ideas and answer questions of operation at our cost. The ability to have volunteers and local donations ( office items and money ) for your center expenses is important. Please understand that no funding is available from our Minneapolis Center.

Notify us that you have opened your Crisis Center and we will send you a certificate of fellowship in the International Christian Crisis Centers. We will endeavor to keep in contact with you, sharing new training, testimonies about other centers and of course our prayers.

1. Why do you feel God has called you to start a telephone crisis center?
 
2. By what date would you want to start a crisis line ministry?
Remember, the director will need to thoroughly study the Director's Training Manual and tapes, create a plan and time schedule, suitable to your situation. Find space in which to begin with at least one telephone, and gather together a prayer team and train counselors.
3. What can you use for a beginning crisis center space?
Many have started with a room in their homes, space in a church or office, or even rented a room or apartment.
 
4. List any churches, or agencies you are coordinating with.
Plan to work with as many churches, social assistance agencies, and even government agencies as possible. Gather prayer partners from cooperating churches to pray for a harvest of souls in the Kingdom of God, for finances, for counselors, and adequate promotion of the crisis center. The success of your crisis center will be a direct result of effective prayer and taking steps of faith.

        Manual and 4 VCR video tapes (NTSC format only - not PAL)
        Manual and 3 audio tapes (if you cannot use NTSC video format)

7. Are there any government restrictions to prevent you from receiving Christian print or audio/video tapes in the mail?
 
8. How would you plan to conduct your counselor training?
Our Counselor Training material includes 22 topics dealing with a wide range of areas that repeatedly occur with those who call for help. The list of topics is included in the Director's Training Manual. Our cost of the Counselor material is $40.00 (USD). If you are unable to pay the entire amount, then we require that you make a donation of some amount and request a scholarship for the rest towards this expense. Contact us for more information.
 
9. What is your initial schedule for phone counseling?
The key to a successful crisis telephone center is to begin with an existing phone in a designated space. After you are established and have enough volunteers, the ideal crisis telephone center ought to be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The number of counselors needed will vary according to the length of their shifts and the number of calls coming into your center. We recommend shifts of 4 hours each.
 
10. What plans do you have to promote this center?
This ministry depends upon a large number of people knowing about this unique service. Of course, access to telephones at a time of need is paramount.
